Decided to draw two characters from my future Inheritance fic.

Meet Orm, the light purple dragon. And Vern, the overly eccentric elf who is a goof ball.

At this point in the fic Odie (who I’ve mentioned before in a previous post as Murtaugh’s goblin of an apprentice) is watching the more senior students do a trust exercise of throwing themselves off their dragons and praying their team and own dragons are going to catch them. Odie as stated has a fear of Hights and thinks humans flying is unnatural (this excludes elf’s, Urgals, and dwarves) and is brought out to watch the exercise by Murtaugh in an attempt to desensitize Odie.

Yes I drew this and not the 10 other drawings involving the series I said I’d do, but shush.

what do jyothi and tyura’s full demon forms look like?? :0

(i also need to redo their humanoid forms completely but i just did a rough redesign of their demon forms for this + a rough size comparison to Shargon)

Jyothi (wind demon, "teenager", any pronouns, Shargons firstborn) Tyura (thunder demon, child, they/them, second born)

so, both have inherited traits from Shargon (he/they), like feathers (instead of scales or fur, which would have been possible too), the generally more slim body structure, the black coloration and somewhere both have that striking pink in their plumage- but most notably his eye color!

in case you havent heard it before- Shargons eye color is not natural for demons (he was born with green eyes), as a child he disappeared from his little group of other young survivors (from the mass extinction that wiped out all demons older than teens, which is .. like 99.9%) and when he returned he was sickly and had orange eyes, all other demons found it strange and offputting, many believing he was not the same creature anymore (especially Eadrya); that was the beginning of Shargon being rejected, isolated and even hunted by others which only got worse as all of them grew up; to have that strange trait be inheritable is incredibly weird considering he himself wasnt born with it either- however, he has never told anyone what had happend to him, there are only two that know, Shargon and Xaror (though neither know why it had this effect and what it does)

Tyura has a malformed front leg due to Shargon suffering too much blood loss during development and they were born extremely prematurly as well, as a sort of .. emergency birth to save at least his own life, as Eadrya had hunted and nearly killed Shargon (again)- though when he was foraging for food in an attempt to recover and keeping Tyura alive he was caught by them again ... and spared; Eadrya, as much as they want Shargon dead for a good part of the story, has a soft spot for children and even becomes Jyothis mentor for a while (which leads to tensions bc .. being mentored by someone who wants your parent dead is uuh, something)

(generally in their culture, or whatever is left of it, young demons are very respected and treated with care regardless of who they are, so even though both have that unnatural trait they are still accepted, though somewhat begrudgingly, while Shargon is not- but they are all very isolated from other demons so interactions happen rather rarely)

colors, markings and body shape change throughout a demons life, but most drastically so in their youth so its not unlikely they will both look different still as an adult disregarding my bad habit of constantly redesigning my characters

apologies for this .. sorta lore dump, its not quite what you asked but i cant seem to shut up fully when soemone asks about my OCs q-q

Fields of Mistria fankids #1: March

I’m not sure if Fields of Mistria is planning to implement a kids system, but I got inspired by Harvest Moon and Fire Emblem Children Mechanics and wanted to try my hand at designing looks for the kids of the bachelors and bachelorettes!

Anyway, let’s talk about March’s child! (My partner started calling her April so I might stick with that lol)

Listen, I think March would be a girl dad… see my vision

She ends up with a terrible attitude problem because her dad spoils her rotten

Not like, all the time, she’s just easy to explode

To him she’s an angel though, she can’t say no to her dad and he can’t say no to her either

Inherits the creativity and the passion to just, make stuff. Already shaping and molding clay or coloring the walls (to her parents dismay) or anything else she can get her hands on

Inherits her dad’s natural hair, she spent her childhood wondering when the red hair would grow in

She’s next in line to take over the family’s blacksmithing business, the responsibility stresses her out

Still, she diligently pays attention to her father’s lessons, but she’d rather ACTUALLY be doing the smithing instead of just observing

The last (and first) time he let her work the forge, she hurt herself really badly. He won’t let her touch it again until he determines she’s ready…

[Seasonal Wardrobe, Spring -> Summer -> Autumn -> Winter + hair down]

I don’t think her wardrobe would be girly or extravagant, but practical with some hand-me-down pieces (not that March doesn’t buy her stuff, I think she just likes wearing her dad’s old jackets and stuff and feeling cool like him)

Also, she can work on her arts and crafts better in simpler clothing

Also her dad definitely spends forever brushing and styling her hair because, as per usual, he feels it just has to be perfect. Getting worked up is his favorite hobby after all

OC lore:

Rogal Dorn is canonically a stubborn and traditional/"belive authority" man who marries a woman who is his polar oppiste in having Magnus tier levels of "I know what I'm doing with the warp, trust me bro", insatiable curiosity, disregard of authority and experience with her ideas both litterally and figuratively blowing up in her face. Only for their daughter to turn out suprisingly well adjusted as a direct result of continously watching her parents fuck up in equal but oppisite ways.

Thought for the group: we all know Murtagh would likely be the type to bide his time getting into a romantic relationship. I personally think he would at least be able to admit he’s attracted to/intrigued by someone pretty quickly, but he’d definitely want at least I think 4-5 years of solid friendship under the belt first before even *considering* making a move. Then maybe another year (or more) of gradually increasing testing the waters.

But what if he was at maybe year 4ish of friendship (so think he’s already fallen for this person stage, but still being cautious) and this person was in a seriously life-threatening situation and almost died in front of him? Like not just your canon typical faint flirting with death, but like *actually* scary and he really thought he was about to lose them? How do we think he’d react? Would he let his guard down and get more touchy-feely in that moment? Would he commit to confessing/testing the waters at a bit of a faster pace sooner than originally planned? Would love everyone’s thoughts.
